Rev. Doug Pierce
District Superintendent

Doug serves full time as district superintendent of the Arizona District Church of the Nazarene. Prior to his election as superintendent he served as assistant superintendent for six years. He also served as lead pastor at New Hope Community Church for three years and as senior pastor at Tempe Church for five years following a prior term as the assistant superintendent/administrator for the Arizona District. He also served as the administrator, Tempe Church of the Nazarene/Tempe Christian School; executive pastor/administrator, Western Oaks Church of the Nazarene; and extended interim pastor at several district churches. Doug also chaired the Camp Pinerock operations board for four years, plus served on the district advisory board, credentials board, and as district treasurer. He currently serves on the Board of Pensions and Benefits, USA (Church of the Nazarene), Board of Trustees for Point Loma Nazarene University (elected chair November 2017), Native American Christian Academy and Arizona Nazarene Lands, Inc. He established Southwest Leadership Center in 1998 and continues to serve as President. Before entering the ministry, Doug was in business with his dad in Oklahoma City. He holds a BA and MA from Southern Nazarene University. Doug has been married to Becky for 46 years, and they have two grown children: Curtis (married to Jessica) and Nikki. The Pierces have two grandkids: Ruby and Phoenix.

Rev. Dr. Brian Delbridge
Assistant to the District Superintendent

Dr. Brian Delbridge (Sharon) semi-retired as Lead Pastor at Tempe Church a few years ago and has productively served as Interim Pastor on multiple occasions on our District. He also pastored Phoenix Monte Vista, plus Indianapolis Westside and Brenneman Memorial Missionary Church. Brian served on various District boards and committees, plus Board of Trustees for Olivet Nazarene University. He co-authored "Guaranteed Growth" and authored "Won't Someone Please Help Me?" a book on church administration. Brian always has a new joke to share and is fun to be around!

Rev. Matt Dennis
NexGen Leadership Development and Technology Coordinator

Matt (Joni) is serving at Turning Leaf Community Church part-time as their College & Family Pastor. Matt served as Co-NYI President, directed and spoke at youth camps, led Elev8 events, and represented SWNYI in India at the Third Wave Conference in 2019. He is a certified DCPI trainer, communication specialist and experienced with media production/technology. He and Joni have three extremely active young boys who keep them on the run!
